        <jats:abstract>
This paper proceeds from the premise that education in societies emerging from war and conflict is not a neutral tool but a "double-edged sword": while it can serve as a lever for social recovery and the restoration of the national fabric, it can also — if misused or left unreformed — become a factor that deepens division and reproduces the roots of conflict. The paper reviews the conceptual framework of social peace in both its negative and positive dimensions, and examines international experiences with divergent outcomes (Rwanda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lebanon, and Sierra Leone) to draw lessons. It then offers an analytical vision of the pillars needed to reform education systems in post-conflict Arab societies — spanning curriculum, teachers, language of instruction, and shared human values — and links educational reform to comprehensive political and economic reform. The paper concludes that fragmented educational reform, however well-intentioned, is insufficient to build sustainable social peace unless it is embedded within an integrated national project
